The Southwest Independent School District Board of Trustees unanimously approved the canvass of the May 3, 2025 school board election and declared Sylvester Vasquez Jr. and Ida Sudolcan the winners at a special meeting Thursday, May 14, 2025. The motion to approve the canvass was moved by Daniel Carrillo and seconded by Jose Diaz; "All members voted in favor; the motion carried."
Following certification, Administrative Assistant and Notary Public Mona Huizar administered the Oath of Office to the newly elected trustees. The action formally confirmed the election results and enabled the winners to assume any immediate duties associated with the trusteeship.
