Southwest ISD board approves districtwide surveillance, access control and safety platform

At its May 20, 2025 regular meeting in San Antonio, the Southwest Independent School District Board of Trustees approved multiple security and safety technology purchases for district facilities. Trustees approved installation of an access control system for the new Central Office and secondary campuses, purchase of district-wide surveillance servers and equipment to support the Video Insight camera system, and the Raptor Technologies safety platform.
The motions were made and carried on the consent/business agenda. Trustee Florinda Bernal moved approval of the access control system; Trustee Jose Diaz seconded, and the motion carried with all members present voting in favor. Trustee Daniel Carrillo moved to approve the Raptor Technologies safety platform; Trustee James Gonzalez seconded, and that motion likewise passed unanimously. The board also approved funding and installation of surveillance servers supporting Video Insight after a motion by Trustee Carrillo and a second from Trustee Diaz.
