Board President Sylvester Vasquez Jr. announced the Board would reconvene in closed session at 12:22 p.m. under provisions of the Texas Government Code to deliberate personnel matters (§551.074), consult with legal counsel (§551.071), consider a recommendation for a specific nonrenewal, and deliberate economic development negotiations (§551.087). The minutes list those statutory citations as the basis for the closed session.
When the Board returned to open session the minutes state no further action was taken on items discussed in closed session. The Superintendent, Dr. Jeanette Ball, used the "Other business" portion of the agenda to recognize Teacher Appreciation Week, Nurses Week and Communications Day. The meeting adjourned at 1:02 p.m.
