Trustee Florinda Bernal moved to uphold the Level II decision following the board's closed-session discussion; Trustee Jose Diaz seconded the motion and “all members present voted in favor; the motion carried.” The board had convened in closed session under Texas Government Code, Chapter 551 on the grievance and related attorney consultation earlier in the meeting.
Later in the meeting, the board returned to closed session to consider personnel and administrator employment matters under Texas Government Code Section 551.074. After reconvening, Trustee Florinda Bernal moved to approve the superintendent's recommendations as discussed in closed session; Trustee Jose Diaz seconded and the motion passed unanimously. The board recorded those personnel actions in open session before adjourning.
