Chairperson Jamison reported on Commission on Aging operations, saying recent special-dinner attendance reached 240 and average daily visitor numbers are increasing. Jamison also reported that work has begun on a new storage barn and a new sign is expected by Aug. 20.
Jamison listed upcoming community events run or supported by the Commission on Aging: a mobile Secretary of State visit Aug. 25 (10:00 A.M.–3:00 P.M.), a health carnival Aug. 21 (11:00 A.M.–3:00 P.M.), and a veterans archery event July 31 (1:00 P.M.–3:00 P.M.). She also noted a Foster Care Golf Outing Sept. 18 at Cedar Valley Golf Course in Comins and said there are 78 children in the tri‑county foster-care system.
