Lieutenant Michael Gammicchia reported May 8 that the Crawford County Sheriff’s Office hired two new deputies for marine patrol who completed a refresher course and will start duty soon.
Gammicchia told commissioners that in April the department handled 662 complaints overall. He provided a breakdown by jurisdiction: City of Grayling 129; Grayling Township 287; Frederic Township 57; Beaver Creek Township 61; Maple Forest Township 48; South Branch Township 43; Lovells Township 30; and seven incidents assisting other agencies.
