He also summarized a judge's finding that the ballot title was defective; the attorney general has until August 13 to rewrite the question and that rewritten title can itself be challenged.
Councilors asked for staff to circulate clarifications requested from county counsel and to monitor the rewrite timeline because overseas and military ballots require early printing. No formal council vote took place at the meeting; the attorney said staff will provide the escrow agreement and related documents for the mayor's signature.
