Emergency manager: Crawford County under State of Emergency after ice storm; county seeks federal aid

Doug Pratt, Crawford County Emergency Manager, told the board the county activated its Emergency Command Center after the recent ice storm and that damage assessments of properties and homes will begin today. "We are at a State of Emergency, and it is trying to be passed to the Federal level," Pratt said, and added that the county is working on a solution for disposal of tree limbs and logs.
Pratt reported that Consumers Energy had restored 100% of customers but Great Lakes Energy still had about 1,700 clients without power. He said the Emergency Management Facebook page includes outage and resource information for constituents. Pratt also stated the county currently "is not meeting FEMA requirements," which frames the county's pursuit of federal assistance as contingent on additional documentation or thresholds that must be met.
