Liquor commission forwards Luna Food Mart license application to Village Board

The Village of Cherry Valley Liquor Commission voted Aug. 4, 2025, to forward an application from US Petro Inc., doing business as Luna Food Mart, to the Village Board for consideration of liquor licenses for Classes B, E and K at 2406 South Bell School Road for the remainder of fiscal year 2025–2026. Trustee Sally Hollembeak moved the commission send the application to the Village Board; Trustee Nancy Belt seconded. The motion carried with all AYE votes.
The commission’s action was procedural: it forwarded the applicant’s paperwork and recommended Village Board review and decision. The minutes note a copy of the commission’s action was placed on file with the meeting records. There was no public comment recorded on the item during the Liquor Commission meeting.
