The City Council voted to schedule a public hearing on April 27, 2026 to gather public input on a proposed management agreement with Spectacle Management, Inc. for the Colonial Theatre.
City Manager Kirk Beattie said the proposed contract would carry a first-year operating subsidy of $166,935.19 with 3% increases in subsequent years; Spectacle was the only respondent to the city's Request for Proposal process. Councilors discussed contract language changes identified in the finance subcommittee review and asked staff to provide a final draft ahead of the hearing. Manager Beattie said at least one Spectacle representative will attend the April 27 public hearing.
The council approved scheduling the public hearing unanimously and indicated further budget details and any final contract changes will be considered at the April 27 meeting after public comment.
