The districts business manager walked the committee through the budget packet and line items for the 2026-27 fiscal year, explaining revenue sources and major expenditure categories.
She said, "You can see in our general fund revenue, we have taxes of 2,000,000 2,924,000, dollars," and described estimated state school funding of about $14,450,200 and interest income "about $215,000" from the local government investment pool. Projected childcare revenue tied to an expanded child-care program was listed around $270,000. On expenditures, she noted payroll and associated costs account for roughly 73% of general fund spending, purchased services roughly 7% and supplies about 6%.
The business manager also told the committee the district is holding a $1,000,000 contingency fund "that the board can touch" if needed. Board members asked for a copy of the significant-changes pages; staff said they would email the detailed line-item explanations after the meeting.
