At its May 8 meeting the Village Council approved several budget actions: an amendment of $58,200 to the current year budget to fund a speed trailer, a new police car, maintenance of courts and the police safety building; a 3% salary increase for 2026–2027 was adopted by resolution; and the council approved the first reading of the 2026–2027 budget, which will be available for public review at the Village Office.
Council President Tim McCarthy moved the budget amendment and the salary resolution; roll‑call votes, where recorded, were four yeas and zero nays. The council noted that funds were available in the existing budget to cover the adjustments. After a brief closed session on personnel, the council also approved hiring and set the salary for a part‑time officer.
The first reading of the 2026–2027 budget was approved and members indicated the document would be available in the Village Office for review. No further public hearing dates for the budget were specified in the meeting record.
