Commissioners adopt FY27 solid waste rate resolution, approve draft ordinance clarifying senior discount

The recap said the increase is required to maintain current service levels, accommodate operating cost increases, and fund capital projects necessary for safety; the new rates will take effect in October.
Katie also said the board approved a draft ordinance to revise provisions relating to the senior citizen discount for the solid waste non ad valorem disposal assessment, clarifying that once a senior citizen discount has been approved the resident does not need to reapply and that the agreement terminates when they leave the home.
