Hillsborough County commissioners on June 17 authorized the Tampa Sports Authority to negotiate the final construction-manager-at-risk contract for an indoor field house project with a $70,000,000 guaranteed maximum price and an 18-month construction schedule, county communications staff said.
The project includes a new 178,000-square-foot field house and about 46,000 square feet of repairs, replacement and renovation to the adjoining Mosey West Building to create public spaces. Katie of Hillsborough County Communications and Digital Media said a majority of funding for the project will come from the renewed community investment tax. The transcript notes the board authorized the Tampa Sports Authority to negotiate the contract but does not name individual commissioners or provide a recorded vote tally.
