County will monitor County Road 53 Double Lakes culvert after bow observed; replacement would be county expense

Commissioner Larry Anderson reported that an individual inspected the culvert at Double Lakes on County Road 53 and observed a bow under the structure. Assistant County Engineer/Solid Waste Administrator Kyle Pillatzki and Interim County Engineer Stephen Schnieder reviewed the matter and said the culvert is not classified as a bridge; if replacement is needed it would be a county expense.
Schnieder said staff now have photos of the culvert and do not believe replacement is currently necessary but will add the location to a monitoring list. No replacement or funding authorization occurred at the meeting; the item will be tracked as an infrastructure monitoring matter.
