Sheriff Jason Purrington told the board he plans to replace two squad cars in 2026 and requested upgraded mobile radios to equip the new vehicles. The board approved a state quote from Alpha Wireless for two APX6500 mobile radios at a total cost of $10,491.60.
The Sheriff noted the county's existing radios were purchased in 2012. The motion to approve the Alpha Wireless quote passed by unanimous vote (mover: Commissioner Donna Gravley; second: Commissioner Wayne Maras).
