The Robertson County Commission adopted Resolution 102025083 to create a new section in the county zoning resolution establishing when developers must submit traffic assessments and when fuller traffic studies are required. Planning staff explained that traffic assessments will apply to rezone applications for parcels of five acres or more and to commercial or industrial properties; traffic studies will be required for developments exceeding 50,000 square feet of floor space or projected to generate 150 or more new daily vehicle trips.
Hunter (planning staff) told the commission that the developer pays for the engineering review and the county engineer's recommendation will go to the planning commission and the highway department, which has authority over access and related road work. Commissioners asked procedural questions such as who selects the engineer and the timing for submission (assessments/studies must be submitted 30 days before planning commission consideration). The resolution was put to a vote and recorded as passing.
