The Leakey Independent School District Board of Trustees approved the meeting's consent agenda—items A through E—by unanimous 5-0 vote on Jan. 19, 2026. The items covered taxpayer refunds per the Real Central Appraisal District (RCAD) request, payment of bills and invoices for the period Dec. 9, 2025, through Jan. 12, 2026, approval of meeting minutes from Dec. 15, 2025, the quarterly investment report ending Dec. 31, 2025, and the annual review of Local Policy CDA (Investment Policy).
Board President Tim McLaughlin opened the consent portion and Trustee Brenda Gonzales moved to approve the entire slate; Donnie Dutton seconded and the motion "carried unanimously 5-0." The Board packet included the RCAD official notification letter and related ballot vote count. The approval preserves the district's current investment policy with no recommended changes at this time.
The action keeps routine financial operations in place while staff continue to monitor investment returns and audit timelines. The business manager's later report in the meeting noted a slight ADA increase and a modest rise in state funding that will be reflected in future budget templates.
