The Committee on Housing voted unanimously Feb. 10 to report Heather Wellington’s reappointment to the Board of Directors of the District of Columbia Housing Finance Agency (DCHFA) to the full council. Chair Robert White moved the committee print and report for PR 26-441 with leave for staff to make technical and conforming changes; all present members responded “aye.”
White summarized Wellington’s background and said she would continue serving as chair if confirmed. According to White, Wellington brings more than two decades of experience in commercial real estate development and management, including leadership roles at FD Stonewater and the JBG Companies, and at the roundtable she emphasized making DCHFA “a partner rather than a barrier to development” and the importance of transparency and responsiveness to maintain public trust. Council member Matt Fruman said he was “really enthusiastic about these nominees” and expressed support for Wellington and the other nominees.
