Board President Tim McLaughlin opened a public hearing on the district's Financial Integrity Rating System of Texas (FIRST) results at 5:30 p.m. on Dec. 15, 2025. Superintendent Chris Yeschke reported Leakey Independent School District scored 100 out of 100 points for the 2023–24 school year, earning an "A" rating with no findings across the 21 financial accountability factors; reimbursements (meals and fuel) for the superintendent and board were disclosed and documented.
The public hearing concluded after a brief question period and a motion to adjourn by Trustee Tammie Dugat, seconded by Trustee Scott Chisum, passed unanimously, 6-0 (Jason Boatwright not present). The district described the rating as evidence of strong financial management and transparency; the board took no further action beyond the hearing.
