Millerton creates Tree Committee; four members appointed, one vacancy remains

Deputy Mayor Matt Hartzog proposed forming a Tree Committee to advise the village on tree maintenance, expansion, and health-and-safety conditions. The committee will serve in an advisory capacity, consist of five members with two-year terms, plan to hire an arborist to conduct a tree inventory, and pursue grant opportunities; it will also recognize Arbor Day annually.
Trustee Matt Soleau moved to create the committee and appoint members; Trustee Katie Cariello seconded the motion. The board approved appointments for Deputy Mayor Hartzog, Rachele Grieco Cole, Laurie Kerr and Eric Revelak, leaving one vacancy that Mayor Jenn Najdek asked be advertised on the village website and social media.
