Chief Phillips presented a temporary intergovernmental agreement between the Village of Lansing and Thornton Fractional High School District #215 to provide two additional crossing guard assignments positioned near the high school for the remainder of the school year. Phillips said traffic signage has been added to improve safe passage for students and that the agreement is similar to those in place with Districts #171 and #158; the agreement was placed on the March 17 VBM agenda.
The Committee reviewed the operational impacts and directed staff to include the agreement in the March 17 packet where renewal terms and any cost-sharing will be clarified for board action. The plan will be reviewed for renewal during the 2026–27 school-year renewal period for all participating districts.
