Planning Commission backs zoning text amendment to disclose real parties in interest

The Planning Commission voted Jan. 14 to recommend the Board of Supervisors adopt a zoning text amendment adding a section on disclosure of equitable ownership and real parties in interest to the Rockbridge County Land Development Regulations.
Staff reviewed prior Planning Commission direction and noted that the draft language was prepared following the commission's November instruction and was included in the meeting packet. Staff cited Code of Virginia §15.2‑2289 as the statutory authority permitting localities to require disclosure of real parties in interest. With no public comment, Commissioner Anthony Subrizi moved to recommend adoption and the motion passed unanimously.
The draft amendment was forwarded to the Board of Supervisors for consideration.
