Rockbridge County planners keep officers, readopt electronic meeting policy and approve agenda

The Rockbridge County Planning Commission unanimously retained its 2025 officer slate for 2026, keeping Tom Beebe as Chair, David Whitmore as Vice‑Chair and Chris Slaydon as Secretary. Commissioners voted to approve the meeting agenda and the schedule at their Jan. 14 meeting.
Staff noted that regular meetings remain the second Wednesday of each month at 7 p.m. and that the November meeting was moved to Tuesday, Nov. 10, 2026, because the usual date falls on Veterans Day. The commission also readopted the Electronic Meeting Participation Policy, as required annually by the Code of Virginia.
The votes on the organizational items were unanimous. "The positions for election were Chair, Vice‑Chair and Secretary," staff member Viveca Hanson told commissioners during the organizational discussion. The commission proceeded with motions to approve the slate, the agenda and the electronic meeting policy without dissent.
