Trustee David Sherman moved and Trustee Katie Cariello seconded adoption of Resolution 2025-45, authorizing the mayor to execute a grant contract and related documents for the sidewalk replacement project; the motion passed unanimously. Later in the meeting trustees heard that only one bid was received for engineering services. Trustee Sherman and Deputy Mayor Matt Hartzog moved to reject the bid from Labella Engineering so the village can rework the bid document and consider downsizing the scope to attract additional proposals; the rejection was approved unanimously.
Mayor Jenn Najdek said the village will rework the bid document to seek additional bidders and may reduce the project scope; trustees did not specify a revised timeline. The authorized grant and the need to rebid engineering services mean the project will proceed to another procurement step before engineering is selected.
