Board approves tentative 2025–26 budget for public display; final vote set for September

The board voted to approve the tentative 2025–26 budget and place it on public display. Jen, a district staff member, described the process and emphasized that the budget is tentative and will remain on display until the September board meeting when final action is scheduled.
"As you did mention, this is the tentative budget, which means that this will go on public display," Jen said, adding that new revenue information arriving that day could affect final numbers and that the presentation in September will include a fuller, community-friendly packet with charts and history. After brief discussion, the board proceeded to a roll call and approved the motion 5–0.
Board members were reminded that the state form included in the packet is the version required to file with ISBE; staff said the September materials will include additional district-formatted documents for public review.
