District leaders describe tri-district administrative retreat and collaboration goals

Leadership from districts 65, 67 and 115 met Aug. 4–5 for an inaugural tri-district administrative retreat focused on shared outcomes, leadership development and interdistrict collaboration, district staff said.
Renee, a district leader, said the inaugural tri-district administrative retreat on Aug. 4–5 brought leadership from districts 65, 67 and 115 together to set shared outcomes and strengthen working relationships. She described sessions that used Gallup strengths, Deloitte Business Chemistry and Tom Burton’s Working Genius to help administrators understand workflow and team strengths.
“We were working and centering our thinking around a know thyself as leaders and a, strengths based leadership couple of days,” Renee said. She added that the group left with ideas and plans to work together as a balanced team across districts rather than in isolation.
Dr. Montgomery applauded the organizers and described the retreat as a way to lift the group and align leadership work going into the school year. The board did not take action on the retreat report; officials said they plan to continue the collaboration.
