Town of Moira approves abstracts and several routine actions; FOIL policy adopted

At its Sept. 9 meeting the Moira Town Board approved two abstracts totaling $258,0—including $240,245.96 for highway claims—accepted the tax assessor's resignation, adopted a FOIL policy, tabled dump-truck financing and authorized LED lighting for the new salt shed.
The Town of Moira Board approved General Abstract 9 (claims 181–201) totaling $17,719.88 and Highway Fund Abstract 9 (claims 84–93) totaling $240,245.96 on a roll call vote, with Supervisor Chad Niles and council members voting Aye, 5–0. The vote was made on a motion by Councilman Timothy Trimm, seconded by Councilman Adam Deuyour.
The board also completed a series of routine actions. On motions recorded during the meeting the board: accepted the resignation of Pamela Sloate as Tax Assessor effective Sept. 28, 2025; rescinded an earlier re-appointment of Sloate effective Oct. 1, 2025; tabled proposed financing for a previously authorized International dump truck (Resolution #134); adopted the Town of Moira Freedom of Information (FOIL) Policy (Resolution #135-2025) by unanimous consent; and authorized LED lighting for the new salt storage building (Resolution #136-2025). Vote tallies where recorded were unanimous (Ayes 5, Nayes 0).
