Rockbridge County Fair prepares for inspections and opening next week

The Rockbridge County Fair board told the LEPC the fair runs Sept. 6–13 with rides starting Sept. 10 and that organizers registered with the health department so food vendors should expect inspections.
Bill Russell, representing the Rockbridge County Fair Board, told the committee the county fair begins next week and runs through Sept. 13, with rides scheduled to open on Sept. 10.
"The fair starts next week and runs until the 13th. Rides will start on the 10th. They did register with the health department so food vendors should be getting inspections," Russell said. Committee members noted the coordination with the health department and emergency services for on-site safety planning during the event.
Fair organizers said they will continue coordination with the health department and emergency management to confirm vendor inspections and on‑site safety procedures before opening day.
