VDEM: grant releases, ICS-300 class and Region 6 LCAR progress

Johnathan of the Virginia Department of Emergency Management told the committee that federal funding was improving and that several grants are being released to localities. He pointed to an upcoming ICS-300 weekend class and multiple training sessions posted in the regional Learning Center.
Johnathan also thanked the three localities that completed the Local Capabilities Assessment for Readiness (LCAR) and said Region 6 was the first in the state to reach 100% completion. Committee members noted training opportunities and encouraged staff to register for available classes.
The LEPC asked that training dates and registration details be circulated to local partners so staff and volunteers can plan attendance.
