Legislature moves remaining agenda items as a consent block, clearing many resolutions
Summary
By a 29-0 vote, the Legislature approved a motion to take the remaining agenda items as a whole (except items 51, 52 and 54), advancing numerous contracts, bond measures and project hearings without separate roll-call debate.
On Jan. 14, 2025, Legislator Michael Yudelson and Legislator Brew moved to take the remaining agenda items as a whole, excluding items 51, 52 and 54. The motion passed 29-0, effectively processing a large consent package that included contracts, bond resolutions and project introductions.
Items placed in the consent package on the agenda included a resolution authorizing a $5,000,000 bond issue for terminal improvements at the Frederick Douglass–Greater Rochester International Airport, multiple Pure Waters project introductions and related public-hearing schedules, and several authorizations for engineering and construction contracts. Several items were listed as "for introductory purposes only" or tabled for later action, with committee reports attached showing committee-level support in many cases.
The consent motion reduced separate plenary debate on many items and is recorded as moved by Yudelson and Brew and adopted 29-0. Items explicitly withheld from the block were Nos. 51 (Board of Health appointments), 52 (commercial events agreements) and 54 (collective bargaining agreement), which remained available for individual consideration.
