Lena departments join shared-cost grant consulting package; annual cost $18,000

Police Chief Brian Lamphere told trustees the Lena Police Department uses a professional grant consulting service to pursue federal, state, and private funding, and presented a proposal to allow other municipal departments to participate through a shared-cost arrangement. The annual cost is $18,000, billed quarterly; the Lena Park District voted to participate and Lamphere said he would discuss participation with the Fire Department.
Attorney Tom Green said a signed document and a resolution would provide the necessary record and authorization for departments to share the cost. The minutes list the departments currently participating as Lena Police Department, Water/Sewer, Streets, and Administration.
