Treasurer Nicole Callos presented a preliminary budget spreadsheet and told the Committee that the fiscal year begins in May and that final numbers should be provided to her by March 16.
Trustee Brandon Smith questioned staff member Brian Nott about anticipated water and sewer engineering fees for the coming year. Nott said he expected engineering fees to be lower going forward and that the Village "should be reimbursed for some current projects that should be coded under the loan." Nott told the board he will provide estimated numbers to Smith the next day and that, if design work is authorized before May, the Village likely would know by April whether funding is approved and by June the confirmed dollar amount.
The board also discussed how Lucas Group factors depreciation into capital planning and how a new sewer lining could affect projected depreciation and engineering costs. No formal budget decisions were recorded at the Committee meeting; the board set internal deadlines so staff can finalize figures for the Treasurer.
