Redevelopment delays leave residents uncertain about returns to Greenleaf, Berry Farm and Richardson

Residents at Greenleaf Senior, Richardson Dwellings and Berry Farm told the committee they have repeatedly been told their homes would be redeveloped or renovated but still lack clear timelines and assurances about returning. Linda Brown of Greenleaf said, "I've seen developers come and go. I have seen directors come and go. But once again, we don't see any significant change on our property."
DCHA replied that some projects are now moving forward under a $700 million revitalization plan and that the agency is finalizing developer negotiations at Greenleaf and progressing with bond-funded work at Lincoln Heights. Staff said Richardson Dwellings requires a fresh financing plan and an RFP for a development partner; Berry Farm has phased completions (the Asbury leased, Edmonton and Hillside Flats on track). The agency committed to place redevelopment status updates on property meeting agendas and to provide resident-facing timelines.
