Monroe County Legislature approves package of infrastructure projects, bond authorizations and contracts

The Monroe County Legislature on Feb. 11, 2025 adopted a wide-ranging package of local laws, resolutions and bond authorizations to fund sewer, pump-station and treatment-plant improvements across multiple Pure Waters and sewer districts.
Under motions led by Legislators Hughes-Smith and Maffucci, the Legislature lifted and adopted resolutions for Northwest Quadrant Pure Waters District (NWQPWD) general pump station, interceptor and treatment plant improvements, electrical system upgrades and SPDES permit compliance work; Gates-Chili-Ogden Sewer District collection system and pump station improvements; and multiple Rochester Pure Waters District (RPWD) projects including CSOAP tunnel improvements and replacement heavy equipment. Several bond resolutions were introduced in support of these projects, including authorizations up to $1,800,000, $1,200,000 and $1,000,000 for specified items.
Most of the items were recorded as carried with unanimous roll calls (29-0) in the minutes. The items were taken after a recess that allowed the Rochester Pure Waters Administrative Board to meet; public hearings on these projects produced no speakers.
