Board agrees to remain in Tyler Regional Day School Program for the Deaf through 2027–28

Superintendent Matt Everett explained the Tyler Regional Day School Program for the Deaf (RDSPD) provides special education and related services for students who are deaf or hard of hearing and that membership carries no cost unless services are needed. Everett recommended that Leverett’s Chapel ISD remain a member of the shared services agreement for the 2025–26 through 2027–28 contract period. Trustee Felipe Amaro moved to remain a member; Trustee Manuel Dennis seconded and the motion carried with all in favor.
Board minutes show the membership renewal was approved as a formal action (motion and second with unanimous support). The district will continue to access RDSPD services on an as-needed basis.
