Council authorizes TxDOT temporary closures for Ladies Night Out (Nov. 13) and Christmas on the Square (Dec. 4)

The Levelland City Council approved resolutions directing staff to enter agreements with the Texas Department of Transportation to temporarily close two highway blocks — Houston Street (north side of the square) and Avenue H (west side of the square) — so the Levelland Main Street Program can hold downtown events.
Council approved Resolution No. 2025-18 for the 2025 Ladies Night Out (Thursday, Nov. 13, 2025) and Resolution No. 2025-19 for Christmas on the Square and the Festival of Lights (Dec. 4, 2025). Staff noted the closures are required because those streets are state highways and the agreements set the requirements the City must meet while the state right-of-way is closed.
