ISBE notifies Prospect Heights SD 23 that district "Meets Requirements" for special education
Summary

The Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE) notified Prospect Heights School District 23 in a letter included in the Oct. 9 board packet that the district "Meets Requirements" under the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) based on its FFY 2024 LEA Determination review.
The packet includes the ISBE LEA Determination Matrix and a cover letter stating, "Based on this annual review, ISBE has determined that your district Meets Requirements in implementing one or more of the requirements of IDEA." The matrix shows high scores across indicators such as Part C–Part B transition, least restrictive environment measures and timely correction of noncompliance; the district's overall percent was recorded at 96.67% in the matrix included in the packet.
The ISBE letter notes that districts with this determination have no required corrective action unless they have open findings; the packet advises districts with open findings to follow the corrective action plan process. The district packet includes a copy of the LEA Determination Matrix and a signature block from ISBE officials.
