Prospect Heights School District 23 on Nov. 13 approved a tentative property tax levy for the 2025 tax year with a recommended increase of 4.11% and scheduled a Truth in Taxation public hearing for the board's Dec. 18 meeting. Assistant Superintendent for Finance and Operations Amy McPartlin presented the levy assumptions used to construct the draft, including a 2.9% Consumer Price Index cap (the lesser of 5% or CPI for 2024) and an estimate of $10,000,000 in new property value.
The board adopted a motion to approve the tentative levy and to publish the legally required notice; the motion was made by Board Member Brian Greidanus and seconded by Spencer Long and passed unanimously (7–0). The administration recorded an estimated capped extension and explained that the levy is being prepared to capture allowable revenue while complying with PTELL (the property tax extension limitation law). The board noted the district will hold the Truth in Taxation hearing on Dec. 18, 2025, after which it may adopt a final levy.
