The Town Council accepted a Planning Commission recommendation to approve a second mini storage unit at 13663 Spotswood Trail. The property previously lay in Rockingham County and had been approved there for two storage units; after a boundary line adjustment placed the parcel in Elkton, the applicants sought approval for the second unit within town limits. The Planning Commission recommended approval 6-0 and the council accepted the recommendation 5-0.
No members of the public spoke against the application during the joint hearing. The council’s acceptance means the previously approved unit can be added under the town’s land-use oversight; Community Development staff will implement the permit and inspection steps required for construction.
