The Elkton Planning Commission on April 1 recommended that the Town Council reappoint two commissioners to new four-year terms and approved meeting minutes from Feb. 18, 2025.
Dorenda Armentrout moved to recommend reappointment of Vice Chairman Dwight "Gene" Kite for the term April 1, 2025–April 1, 2029; Billie Jo Dofflemyer seconded. The commission recorded a 6-0 voice vote in favor and will forward the recommendation to the Town Council. Later, Dwight "Gene" Kite moved to recommend reappointing Dean Tills for the term May 1, 2025–May 1, 2029; Wesley Walls seconded and the commission again voted 6-0.
Earlier in the meeting, Secretary Wesley Walls moved to approve the Feb. 18, 2025 joint public hearing minutes; Dean Tills seconded and the motion passed by voice vote, 7-0. Delores Hammer, the zoning administrator, was present and is responsible for transmitting the commission's recommendations to the Town Council.
The Town Council will consider the commission's recommendations at a future meeting; the commission did not schedule additional action on these items at the April meeting.
