Sheriff Chris Clark told the board the K-9 program expansion is supported primarily by outside donations: "Earlier this year the Sheriff’s office received a $10,000.00 donation from the American Kennel Association and Dayton Kennel Club to fund this project." Clark also told the board the department purchased a vehicle already equipped for K-9 use from GovDeals.com for $1,000; that vehicle will support the canine unit while other fleet purchases are arranged.
