The Board of Education of School District #90 adopted the 2025 tax levy at its Dec. 16 meeting.
Anthony Cozzi, the district’s Chief Operations Officer, explained compliance with the Truth in Taxation Act and said the district’s increase was below the 5% threshold that would trigger a formal hearing. "the District was not required to conduct a formal public hearing on the tax levy because the increase was less than 5% of the prior years' extension," Cozzi said. The motion to adopt the levy was approved on a unanimous roll-call vote.
The board’s recorded action matched the levy estimate the board approved in November, according to Cozzi. No public hearing was held because the statutory threshold was not met. The adoption followed standard administrative presentation and a roll-call motion; details of the levy amount were described in the levy documentation presented to the board.
