The Levelland City Council unanimously approved amendments to the Levelland Main Street Advisory Board bylaws on Aug. 25 to align board terms and officer terms to the calendar year. The recommended revisions change Article II and Article III so appointments and officer terms begin Jan. 1 and end Dec. 31, beginning in 2025.
Councilmember Jaime McCabe moved to approve the amendments, and Councilmember Max Ledesma seconded; the motion carried unanimously. Support materials noted that the change is intended to synchronize board service with the calendar year rather than the city’s fiscal year.
Why it matters: shifting appointment and officer cycles to a calendar-year basis alters recruitment and transition timelines for the advisory board and is intended to simplify annual scheduling of appointments and officer elections.
