Council OKs Civic Center office for Texas Division of Emergency Management liaison

Council approved Resolution No. 2025-13 to permit a Texas Division of Emergency Management (TDEM) liaison to be co-located at the Levelland Civic Center. Michael Stueart moved “To approve action on Resolution No. 2025-13 regarding utilization of the Levelland Civic Center as office space for the Texas Department of Emergency Management Liaison”; Max Ledesma seconded and the motion carried unanimously.
City staff told the council the arrangement would foster direct connections to regional and state disaster recovery resources and be beneficial when the Emergency Operations Center is activated. The action requires use of a currently vacant classroom at the Civic Center and is intended to improve coordination during large-scale incidents.
