Public Works Director Arnold told the Council that Pierce and Range are closed because of a failed sewer pipe and that the closure may last a week or two pending contractor work; Webster reopened after scheduled work was delayed and Lake Street will be closed for paving tomorrow and should reopen by the end of the day.
City Administrator McCann reported that ArtSplash drew about 500 people and about 40 vendors, noted that the MAPO 2050 Metropolitan Transportation Plan draft is expected this fall, and reminded the public that Fun Days (the event's 60th anniversary) begins Wednesday with Music in the Park on July 17, 24 and 31, Blues on Belgrade on July 19, and the Farmers’ Market continuing Mondays behind the Fire Station.
Council members raised local concerns such as the condition of a vacated restaurant property and a repeatedly malfunctioning speed sign on Belgrade; staff said they would follow up and the Traffic & Safety Committee is reviewing scooters and bikes after a state statute change.
