The Mount Vernon City Council adopted a package of committee-recommended legislation at its Jan. 28 meeting, approving multiple procurement actions, referrals and contract renewals.
Items approved from the Legislation & Public Works committee included TMP-1893 (Emergency Printer Support Contract — Aztec), TMP-1894 (HI-Link Emergency Email Protection Support), TMP-1900 (a memorandum of understanding with The Guidance Center of Westchester concerning a Center for College Careers), several RFQs and professional services referrals (TMP-1895, TMP-1896, TMP-1897, TMP-1898, TMP-1899, TMP-1902) and a rescission of a referral letter concerning Kenneth McBryde (TMP-1904). Each motion was moved by Councilwoman Cathlin Gleason and seconded by Councilwoman Cynthia Turnquest-Jones and carried by recorded vote. The Finance & Planning committee's TMP-1877 (MRB contract renewal) was also adopted.
These items were presented as committee recommendations with no recorded debate in the meeting minutes. Councilmember Cynthia Turnquest-Jones noted, when TMP-1903 (NYCOM Winter 2026 attendance) was considered, that she would "be paying the cost myself so it is not any cost to the city." No further fiscal objections were recorded in the minutes.
