During the public-comment period of the April 7 meeting to certify the April 1 special election results, several residents addressed the council to congratulate the declared winner for District 4.
Chuck Martin of 205 Cherrywood Lane opened public comments with a request about the pledge and then directly congratulated the declared winner, saying the winner "ran a clean, honest, and very transparent campaign" and that he expected the new councilmember to work well with the council. Jennifer Fox of East Turgot Avenue also congratulated Eric Greenberg, praised his prior planning-and-zoning work and thanked whoever improved the PA system so the public could hear proceedings.
Kim Long of Mango Tree Avenue confirmed with the presiding official that comments at this time were limited to the certification item; she said she would make additional comments at the regular meeting. Council members also offered brief congratulations from the dais before the council approved the certification resolution.
