At 7:40 p.m. on April 20 the Gull Lake Community Schools Board of Trustees voted to enter closed session pursuant to Section 8(1)(c) of the Michigan Open Meetings Act to consider collective bargaining matters. Treasurer Laura Zervic moved the motion; Secretary Mini Paulose-Murphy supported it. The roll call recorded AYES from Paulose-Murphy, McCann, Keene, Mendez, Zervic and Scott-Rhodes; Desiree LaDuke was absent. The Board reconvened in open session at 8:53 p.m.
The meeting minutes indicate the Negotiations/Personnel Committee had reviewed the "271 Educator Compensation Proposal" and that work would continue with the Gull Lake Education Association (GLEA) to finalize terms. The minutes do not record the substance of the closed-session discussion, consistent with the confidentiality of collective bargaining sessions under the Open Meetings Act.
