Councilmember Frank Herbert moved and Councilmember Holly Bange seconded adoption of Resolution 2024-27 to award all schedules of the Pedestrian Improvements and Commercial Ave Multimodal Improvements contract to the low bidder, Hurst Construction. The resolution was adopted unanimously at the July 15 meeting, subject to funder approval of the award.
City Administrator Jord Wilson told the council that all bid schedules came in above the engineer’s estimate and that the city’s share could be up to $125,000 as part of a roughly $1.5 million funding package through the Transportation Improvement Board (TIB). The award is contingent on the funder approving the low-bid award; the council did not authorize the city share beyond receiving the bid information and adopting the resolution conditioned on funder approval.
